BECOMING
Motion2026

Becoming

Becoming explores the tension between creation and erosion through a digitally sculpted human form suspended between completion and collapse. Layers of clay-like material continuously emerge, shift, and dissolve across the figure's surface, transforming the body into a living landscape of memory, experience, and change. The work draws inspiration from traditional sculpture while reimagining the medium through motion. Rather than presenting identity as fixed, Becoming portrays the self as an ongoing process, shaped by time, emotion, and lived experience. The slow movement of material across the face suggests the accumulation of memories, the weight of transformation, and the constant negotiation between who we are and who we are becoming. Through its minimal palette, tactile textures, and contemplative pacing, the film invites viewers to reflect on the fluid nature of human existence and the beauty found within impermanence.

Mother

Mother Mother is a poetic motion piece that explores memory, care, and the invisible bonds that shape our lives. Through the delicate movement of translucent lace suspended in darkness, the work transforms a familiar material into a metaphor for maternal presence. The fabric appears weightless yet enduring, drifting between visibility and disappearance, much like memories that remain with us long after a moment has passed. The lace functions as both a physical and symbolic structure. Its intricate patterns reference fragility, protection, inheritance, and the quiet labor of caregiving. As the form unfolds and dissolves across the screen, it evokes the emotional layers of a mother’s influence: nurturing, resilient, and ever-present. Rendered in monochrome, the work removes distractions of color and directs attention to texture, movement, and form. The slow, contemplative pacing invites viewers to reflect on personal experiences of love, support, and belonging. Mother is dedicated to the artist's mother, whose unwavering encouragement and constant love have provided strength throughout life. The piece serves as both a tribute and an act of gratitude, honoring the enduring impact of maternal care.

MobiScout: A scalable cloud-based driving and activity monitoring platform featuring an IOS app and a WatchOS extension

MobiScout is an iOS application designed to monitor users' driving habits and physiological conditions on the road. This app offers a cost-effective, next-generation solution for data collection and analysis in naturalistic driving studies. MobiScout captures real-time data, encompassing physiological information, using sensors on mobile phones, smartwatches, and Bluetooth-enabled OBD equipment. The software records data such as speed, braking, pulse rate, and acceleration, while the phone's camera captures both the interior and exterior views of the car. Data can either be streamed to cloud storage in real-time or stored locally in areas without WIFI. The acquired data serves to enhance our understanding of typical traffic behavior, driver performance, and surrounding conditions.

The place of poster in the digital era

Animated posters are a relatively new medium in graphic design, which seem to have been significantly ignored by researchers. This thesis examines the interaction of animation, technology, and interactive media shaping animated posters. Thus, by defining our current understanding of animated posters. Also, examining the effectiveness of animated posters on viewer’s recall, we explore that whether, in the peak of the digital screens, motion graphics, and advanced interactive technologies, the poster design is still bound to the print technology or must be entirely reconceived as a specific form of the digital medium? And eventually, what would be the next generation of posters? Accordingly, two online surveys were conducted with a general audience and an informal critique with informed designers, as was a literature review and an analysis of existing animated posters. Respondents were randomly separated …
